Drama games and exercises activates vitality and stimulates players physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Provides hands-on learning by doing, feeling, and experiencing. Reduces stress and provides a healthy outlet for expression of emotions. Brings fun, laughter, and bonding into the group environment. Stimulates imagination and spontaneity in the moment.

Drama develops skills such as concentration, imagination, cooperation/collaboration, and listening. The benefits of drama education (such as self-confidence, empathy, and communication skills) are invaluable in the work place and in everyday interactions with people.

But most important they develop your personality. You learn to work with your imagination and process your experiences consciously in your way of relating to others. You gain more control over what you say and do and how you move.

ENERGIZERS GAMES – warm-up the players tools, their body and voice, and create a sense of teamwork and trust. They activate five senses, motor skills, communication skills, increase memory and focus energy.



1. “SHARK” – in space, we set up one chair per player of the game. All players, except one, seat on the chairs. One chair is empty, because one player is “the shark” and he stands outside of the space. Calmly and slowly “the shark” starts to walk towards an empty chair. Other players have to stand up, and must occupy this chair before the “shark” seat on the chair.

When “the shark” finally seat on the chair, somebody else take his role and becomes new “the shark”. Each player will be at least once “the shark”.


2. THE SAMURAI OR HU-HA-HO GAME” – group is in the circle and one player begin with the play. There are three different words in connection with three different movements.
First player pronounce HU and with joined palms waves from the top of the head down – as he have a sword in his hands, like he wants someone to cut in half. A person who is halved pronounced HA and raise his palms from down to up over the head. Two persons beside pronounced HO and then sweep also with connected hands to the stomach of the “HA” person, also like they cut him with the sword. Afterwards that “HA” person continues to play with pronouncing HU, and “cutting” somebody else in the circle.


3. “ZIP, ZAP, BOEING” –  we throw imaginary ball around the circle, clapping with our palms toward one person. We throw the ball to the persons which are next to us – with the word “zipp”. We throw the ball to the persons which are opposite to us – with the word “zap”. The person who does not want to receive the ball – raise both hands in front of himself and says “boing”. Word “boing” means that the ball is returned to the person who sent it.



PHYSICAL EXERCISES – relax and worm-up the body. Players interact with others more directly, listening, hearing, looking, knowing how to read better one another’s body language.


MIRROR (body and emotional) – two players stand opposite to each other. One is leading, and other one is mirror who slowly imitates “mirrors” his movements, or his emotions.


DUEL – two players start the scene touching their back. They start to walk and count until 5, then they turn facing each other and they shoot at each other with invisible weapon. They have to point precisely to the part of the body they want to shoot at. They give sound of weapon while shooting, and the victim gives sound of pain when she is shot.


BLACK BOX – drama teacher has in his hand black-box(remote) with three “normal” buttons and one red button. One player is siting on the chair and has to invent for first button-just movement, for second button-sound, third button-movement and sound, and red button is extreme situation. Teacher change buttons freely and person has to concentrate and be aware on what is his body and voice doing.


GROUP EXERCISES – you learn how to get along with others and to develop ideas both with others and by yourself. You learn to see self-expression, subjects, themes, and the other players in a new way. They can help you in daily life to manage thoughts and problems more creatively.


OBJECT IN 10 SECONDS – Group of three people forms parts of a object in 10 seconds (fire, car, clock, washing machine, traffic light, space ship, mixer…)


MACHINE – players in group of four people form parts of a machine using their bodies in repetitive movements and sounds. The machine may have a theme or make an object or an emotion.


PARTY – One improviser leaves the stage and gets character traits, habits, etc. The offstage improviser returns and a party scene is played. Everyone on the party tries to guess his psycho-physical personality trait, when they guess it they start to act like he.


TRIO – three players come on stage as a serious acapella singers. One by one they invent their sound, making together composition of three different sounds. They perform it repetitively without changing them. At any moment one of the persons steps out and jumps into her own “scene”. Two others have to jump into the same “scene” and be part of it. (box match, magician show, jail etc)


VERBAL GAMES – you learn how to express yourself, learn new words and different ways of speaking and communicating. Learn how to speak loudly and clearly.


DUBBED MOVIE – Offstage players provide the voices for the onstage characters and action.


POETRY TRANSLATOR – one person performs his poem on gibberish, made-up language, and the other person is translator. Translator has creative freedom to invent words and meaning of the poem.


8 LINE DIALOG – Two players write eight lines of dialogue and they try to remember them. Dialog can have a theme: farewell, conflict…Then they perform it with different emotions, characters: robots, photo-models, cowboys…, different genres: opera, ballet, rock band…, in different locations: under the water, on the moon…etc
